At Boma Tours & Safaris, we believe tourism can be a catalyst for positive change when local people share in its opportunities and benefits.
Our mission is to support the social and economic development of communities connected to our journeys. We aim to collaborate with locally led initiatives, organisations and suppliers, building relationships based on respect rather than creating experiences around communities without their voice.
Through responsible tourism, we want each guest’s experience to contribute to employment, education, cultural pride and the long-term protection of Tanzania’s wildlife and landscapes.
Founded by Edgar Laizer, who comes from a Maasai background, Boma approaches culture as living heritage: something to be shared with permission, valued fairly and never exploited.

Empowering women
We aim to promote equal opportunity and create pathways for women to benefit from tourism through guiding, hospitality, cooking, crafts and other local roles.

Education opens doors. As Boma grows, we aim to support locally led schools and educational programmes through practical resources and future scholarship opportunities.

We seek responsible partnerships that protect wildlife and habitats while recognising that conservation must also create lasting value and opportunities for local people.

We aim to support artisans, cultural groups and community-led experiences through consent, respect and fair value—helping traditions remain strong while creating income.
